Nokia N-85 Mobile Review, Full Phone Features, Specifications

Nokia N85 (the smallest dual-slider Nseries) features a 2.6? AMOLED QVGA (240×320 pixels) display that supports 16 million colours. The OLED display should have a faster responce time, refresh rate and use less power than LCD displays and a 5 megapixel camera with support for geotagging.

There are also dedicated gaming keys and 10 pre-loaded demo titles to try out and you will be able to choose 1 game to have for free! Other features include a built-in FM transmitter, GPS and a 3.5mm audio jack. There will also be enough power from the BL-5K battery (1200mAh) for 28 hours of music playback. Many people have asked for the ability to charge their devices through USB, and the N85 is also the first Nseries device to support USB charging!

Like the N79, the N85 will have a microSD card included in the sales package - this time an 8GB card instead of having built-in mass storage..

Nokia N85 is actually quite an interesting device since it can do everything the N96 can but features a higher capacity battery in a slimmer design and a lens cover for the camera. A couple of things you do loose however is the 16GB Mass Memory and the 2.8? screen - OLED display.

The power of a multimedia computer in a sleek design featuring the iconic Nokia 2-way slide. The 2.6″ OLED display delivers content in vibrant, natural colors. Discover long playback times and 3D stereo sound for your music, games and videos. Stay connected to your online life. Geotag your photos and explore new places using A-GPS and Nokia Maps. It boasts N-Gage gaming, music with in-built FM transmitter, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, three month integrated license for turn-by-turn voice navigation and high-speed connectivity, all in one device.

Highlights from the Nokia N85

  • Build quality is good. The dual slider is firm.
  • One of the best screens on the market today. The screen display is strikingly different from the Nokia N95 8GB. It is brighter also with more saturated colors.
  • The stereo speakers are loud, comparable to the Nokia N82.
  • One of the best 5 megapixel cameraphones, comparable to the other 5 megapixel cameras in the Nseries.

In conclusion, Eldar wrote the Nokia N85 is an ideal replacement for those tired of the Nokia N95. With the price at 450 euros in Europe, you get the most for your money compared to a Nokia N96 or the competitor Samsung INNOV8. He thinks the Nokia N85 will be one of the best phones in the market… until February 2009 when Nokia releases two breakthrough devices! The N85 is expected to ship in October.
